Träume und Realität, Fiktion, Realitäten, Bilder. Im Zentrum der Betrachtung der in dieser Ausstellung gezeigten Arbeiten stehen das Medium Fotografie und sein Verhältnis zu Realität und Fiktion. Zu sehen sind Arbeiten der Studierenden und Lehrenden des Lehrgebiets Fotografie der Hochschule Düsseldorf. Sie setzen sich jeweils mit spezifischen Sujets auseinander, arbeiten zu Körperlichkeit im Bild, fotografischen Tagebüchern und Realitäts-Abbildungen ebenso, wie mit redaktioneller Fotografie, fotochemischen oder fotogrammetrischen Verfahren.

Die Lehrenden Mareike Foecking, Nina Ditscheid, Mark Hermenau, Moritz Krauth, Andreas Langfeld, Hartmut Nägele und Morgaine Schäfer bilden ein großes Spektrum verschiedener Genres und Konzepte des Fotografischen ab. Eine Vielfalt, die der Kern der Lehre der Fotografie an der Hochschule Düsseldorf ist.

Die Ausstellung vermittelt einen Überblick über die verschiedenen Konzepte und Genres des Fotografischen und nimmt damit Bezug auf eine historische Ausstellung, die documenta 6, in der die Fotografie erstmalig in solch einer Breite im Kunstkontext gezeigt wurde. Der Idee und Konzeption dieser historischen Ausstellung fügen die Studierenden eine Multitude zeitgenössischer fotografischer Positionen hinzu. Dabei wird durch die Diversität der Positionen eine gegenwärtige Verfasstheit des Fotografischen sichtbar gemacht.

Dreams and reality, fiction, realities, images. The works shown in this exhibition focus on the medium of photography and its relationship to reality and fiction. On display are works by students and lecturers from the Department of Photography at Hochschule Düsseldorf. They each engage with specific subjects, working on corporeality in the image, photographic diaries and images of reality, as well as editorial photography, photochemical or photogrammetric processes.

The lecturers Mareike Foecking, Nina Ditscheid, Mark Hermenau, Moritz Krauth, Andreas Langfeld, Hartmut Nägele and Morgaine Schäfer cover a broad spectrum of different genres and concepts of photography. A diversity that is at the core of the teaching of photography at Hochschule Düsseldorf.

The exhibition provides an overview across the various concepts and genres of photography and thereby refers to a historical exhibition, documenta 6, in which photography was shown for the first time in the context of art on such a broad scale. The students add a multitude of contemporary photographic positions to the idea and concept of this historical exhibition. Through the diversity of the positions, a contemporary constitution of the photographic is revealed.
